If you're like me you can remember countless useless bits of knowledge: Monty Python sketches and cheesy 80’s song lyrics stick around in my head effortlessly. Significant dates in the lives of my friends and Family do not. Applying geek skill to social ineptitude I wrote a program to constantly Remind Me of those important dates--and now I'm usually the first to know about a significant date in the life of an acquaintance. This software, at the request of my friends, has become the freeware Birthday Bar for Macintosh.
Birthday Bar is designed to be a persistent but out-of-the-way reminder of upcoming Birthdays, Anniversaries and yearly special Events. It grabs date information from your Address Book and displays the upcoming event in a bar at the top or bottom of your screen. A pop up menu provides quick access to help you with common activities associated with the event.
